Eager to Serve: The Indomitable George Washington

His Seven Trips to Western Pennsylvania

Wednesday, February 19, 7-8:30 pm

* Pre-paid registration required *

Join us for an evening of history!

Destiny ensured that George Washington's life was inexorably intermingled with Western Pennsylvania. He was beckoned to visit our area seven times in a forty-one year period. He responded, eager to serve and graciously accepted the challenges.

From spying on the French in 1753 at the young age of 21, to the taking of Fort Duquesne, to suppressing the Whiskey Rebellion as president, Washington narrowly escaped with his life over 10 times! These monumental trips (1753-1794) contributed greatly to weaving the fabric of western Pennsylvania history.

Visit the Depreciation Lands Museum for an exciting and informative evening of history with Jonathan Klemens, local author and 18th century historian. The evening will also include a display of 18thc century artifacts.

** Pre-paid registration is required for the lecture, and seating is limited.**

Registrations accepted beginning mid December
