Adventures in Pioneer Living

-- for children ages 8 through 12 --

Traditional Week long morning camp, June 17-21, 9-11:45am

You can experience life as an Indian or as a Pioneer or a Ranger!

The year is 1792. European settlers, mostly of Scotch-Irish heritage have begun settling here, in the Depreciation Lands. Carving a home out of the forest is a real challenge for many. Perhaps the Pioneer settlers and the local Indians, who have been hunting in this land for generations, will learn to respect each other and share skills which could improve the lives of both groups. And the Rangers help keep the peace.

Registration for the camp is open to children 8-12 years of age. The week-long Camp runs from 9:00 am until 11:45 am.

This camp appeals to children who enjoy returning to the slower pace of life 200 years ago. Each Unit will focus on skills required for living during the early days of the Depreciation Lands. You will learn the history and lore of the area along with techniques such as cooking over an open fire, spinning yarn & weaving cloth or twining rope. As in all families, we work together, with older children sharing tasks and helping the younger ones. Ramgers will learn the use of period appropriate simulated weapons as well as the physical skills required of the military of the time.

You will receive an historically appropriate costume to borrow and wear during the camp. Tuition also includes all materials and supplies.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to become part of history!

Registration is now open.

**Pre-paid Registration is required.**

Fees for the week-long camp are $100.00 for non-member children. A discount is available for children of members immediate families.

**Early registration is advisable since spaces are limited**
