Orientation for New Costumed Interpreters

Skills Classes for all Interpreters

Dates: TBA 2021

Skills Classes

During the winter and spring we offer classes to enrich our presentation as costumed interpreters. In some classes, we learn tips for staffing a particular area of the Museum. In others, we create a garment or accoutrement for our kit. These classes are open to all volunteers. Whether you are new to this or are a seasoned interpreter, you will be sure to learn something new!

All interpreters will receive notices and the opportunity to attend any or all of the classes each year. If you are new, and have not yet registered as an Interpreter, click here and do it now!

Orientation Workshop

Come learn what Sunday costumed Interpreters actually do!

You will learn who you are, what you wear, and what to do for appropriate demonstrations. We will learn about the history of the area, and the presentations appropriate to each building at the Museum.

While attending this workshop does not obligate you to join our Volunteer staff, we hope you will be enthused and want to become a part of the Depreciation Lands Museum!

New Volunteers are always welcome! If you have an interest in joining the Museum as a Costumed Interpreter, please join us to learn more about it! All training will be provided and 18th century dress is available for new interpreters to borrow. Volunteers typically work two days each month, as fits their schedule.

Register as a volunteer interpreter today!
