Gunn Klass

Regretably, due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to offer classes at this time

---Location: Hampton Middle School Tech Ed Classroom /Depreciation Lands Museum---

On Tuesday nights, expert craftsmen at the long running Gunn Klass guide students eighteen years and older in designing and creating 18th century firearms. Students may also choose to study other historical crafts as diverse as leatherwork, woodworking, engraving, and sewing period clothing.

Mentors help students select appropriate materials and parts, then guide them through the crafting process. Many re-enactors, Museum volunteers and flintlock afectionados have built their own firearms at Gunn Klass.

Klass runs for two 15-week semesters each year, and meets at the Hampton Middle School Tech Ed classroom. Students may join the class at any time. The class also supports the museum through special projects, such as building the tables for the Tavern, and museum membership is included in the class tuition fee.

Tuition, including DLM membership: $65 per semester

Open to adults, 18 years and older

For more information e-mail the Museum or call 412-486-0563 and leave a message.
