Firearms in the 18th Century

Sunday, July 11 1-4 pm

Take a trip back to colonial times right in Pittsburgh's back yard. In an era when settlers living in more remote areas, such as Talley Cavey, relied heavily on wild game for food, skill with a firearm was essential. In addition, males were needed to muster in the Militia from time to time which required skills with a variety of weapons. Today our settlers gather to try their skills and demonstrate 18th century firearms .

As always, there will be the savory scent of woodsmoke from the cooking in the Armstong's log house and the Bake Oven, watch the blacksmith work his magic with iron, and look in on the one-room school.

Demonstrations will abound for visitors of all ages.
